Diwali Celebration and the Story of Ramayan ( Class 1st and 2nd )
Diwali is the festival of lights . It is one of the most important festivals in India . On Diwali, people clean and decorate their homes , light diyas (lamps) , wear new clothes , and share sweets with family and friends.
The story of Diwali comes from the Ramayan .
Long ago, Lord Rama, the prince of Ayodhya , went to the forest for 14 years with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman . The demon king Ravana took Sita to Lanka . With the help of Hanuman , Rama fought a big battle, defeated Ravana , and brought Sita back safely .
When Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya, people lit lamps everywhere to welcome him. That day is celebrated as Diwali .
Diwali teaches us that good always wins over evil and light is stronger than darkness .
Let’s celebrate this Diwali with love, peace, and happiness !
Happy Diwali!
